globecat.blogspot.com/2008/08/interview-es-posthumus.htmlAnd the best part? Well, the most important aspect of Cartographer to us is that Luna's voice inspired us so deeply. Working with her was an invigorating experience. We did the Piri Reis version as an exercise of creativity, but when I'm in my car I listen to the Luna version. The collaboration process was amazing and I think if the right artist came along, we'd be up to doing it again. Presently, it's just the two of us locked in our cave together working on a follow up to Unearthed. F'n, eh.

Does anyone know where Cartographer song titles come from? I really want to know their meaning. The whole "made up language" thing would lead one to believe the are an arbitrary mishmash of vowels and consonants that sounded nice together. They have no intrinsic meaning....just one that is derived from the listener. So, really, the names mean what you want them to mean.

I mean this in the nicest way possible....but...mam...E.S. Posthumus fans are flippin' crazy sometimes.
The most interesting tidbit in there was that she was hinting at a possible tour. Just as long as they hit up the East Coast.

Huh. It said it was viewable to the public. The stupid thing LIES! No reason to look now, it is much less impressive. Just US, Canada, Europe, India, Japan, and NZ. Before people logging in from every continent.

I hope more sports teams and other such high-testosterone type organizations continue to commission ES to make custom tunes. That way they are forced to use tons of cellos and electric guitars.

Darn, the tin foil hat wearers have been foiled. It was an interesting conspiracy theory while it lasted.

Yup, you're right...it's them... www.wireimage.com/SearchResults.aspx?igi=263291&s=Helmut%20Vonlichten&sfld=C&vwmd=eThat is the only picture of the two I can find. They seem to enjoy their privacy and desire to let their music be famous rather than themselves. Smart guys. I can't think of anything on the planet that would be more horrifying than to be famous. You're just a regular Joe like everyone else...but everywhere you go everyone knows your life story and who you are.

Yes it sure does. Cookies for guessing who's the conductor and who's the guitarist. As per the comments section of the video, I would suppose it is one brother conducting, the other doing the guitar thing. Who the heck is this Derek person they are crediting with the composition? Helmut and Franz Vonlichten does sound pseudonymy.....

Is Country Roads seriously THIS popular outside of the US state of West Virginia (not to be confused with Virginia....ever.)? youtube.com/watch?v=jOoqiQmgMPkWTF? Singing it at the World Cup in Germany? Being a very, very proud native of West Virginia....and being that this is THE state song....this is....well...fascinating. 100,000 Europeans singing a song about West Virginia....just....wow...
