If you love E.S. Posthumus then you love good music and have great taste (or at least you're off to a good start ). Let's have this thread for all musical recommendations be it old or new. If your recommendations fall into genres that are not similar to orchestrated music then please mention so, otherwise try to keep it as on topic or relevant as you can. A lot of us don't really know what's out there and for many fans E.S. Posthumus is their first introduction to orchestrated and well structured music. I think some good worldly and ambient music (although not orchestrated) are earlier Delerium (Semantic Spaces and Karma) their most recent isn't as bad either but not as 'Earthy'. Ars Arcana makes decent orchestrated trailer music. For soundtracks I recommend Batman Begins - Hans Zimmer, and Planet of the Apes - Danny Elfman. I'm not that knowledgeable about classical music but I do like and recommend Vivaldi and Bach.

Rob Dougan's instrumental stuff is great. Clubbed to Death, Furious Angels, I'm Not Driving Anymore......great stuff....definitely check that out.
Craig Armstrong is pretty good. He's a pretty accomplished composer who gets experimental sometimes.
I really like the Kronos Quartet, too. Their rendition of Barber's Adagio is my favorite. They did a mean cover to Jimi Hendix's Purple Haze, too.
If you liked the Luna Sans disc, check out Adiemus. It is virtually the same style. It's composed by Karl Jenkins with a great female singer who sings in a faux language (sound familiar).....Jenkins most famous song is the one used by the diamond industry in those "Diamonds are Forever" commercials. When you hear it, you'll know it...
I'll put some samples up on my server for you...give me a few minutes...

www.megaupload.com/?d=IWEMDHZBHere's some samples for you too (and anyone else who wants a peek). Let me know if there is anything in here you like, although these are more my tastes... a little more ambient vocal.

I've listened to all of Rob Dougan's instrumentals and they are pretty great. I've been listening to State of Grace III and OMG it is freakin awesome!

Hey, I just thought I'd stop by and recommend some of my own music. I listen to a lot of E.S. Posthumus and I'd say my music is pretty similar. Most of my music is orchestral/cinematic stuff with a huge emphasis on implementing modern elements. You can listen to all of my songs at www.sycrossmusic.com. I've also got a free song download available right now. Thanks in advance, Ray Li
