I mean this in the nicest way possible....but...mam...E.S. Posthumus fans are flippin' crazy sometimes. The most interesting tidbit in there was that she was hinting at a possible tour. Just as long as they hit up the East Coast. ah yeah I actually missed the interview myself. Wish I could have heard it but I guess there wasn't much to it either.

I've listened to all of Rob Dougan's instrumentals and they are pretty great. I've been listening to State of Grace III and OMG it is freakin awesome!

www.megaupload.com/?d=IWEMDHZBHere's some samples for you too (and anyone else who wants a peek). Let me know if there is anything in here you like, although these are more my tastes... a little more ambient vocal.

If you love E.S. Posthumus then you love good music and have great taste (or at least you're off to a good start ). Let's have this thread for all musical recommendations be it old or new. If your recommendations fall into genres that are not similar to orchestrated music then please mention so, otherwise try to keep it as on topic or relevant as you can. A lot of us don't really know what's out there and for many fans E.S. Posthumus is their first introduction to orchestrated and well structured music. I think some good worldly and ambient music (although not orchestrated) are earlier Delerium (Semantic Spaces and Karma) their most recent isn't as bad either but not as 'Earthy'. Ars Arcana makes decent orchestrated trailer music. For soundtracks I recommend Batman Begins - Hans Zimmer, and Planet of the Apes - Danny Elfman. I'm not that knowledgeable about classical music but I do like and recommend Vivaldi and Bach.

I like Estremoz but I think I prefer Lepcis Magna to it. Ulaid is my least favorite song and I usually skip that track when I listen to the CD. It's the only song I don't really care for but eh... that's just me. I've tried to like bag pipes, but can't...

Well you know... if you're already a pharmacist then you're already somewhat intellectual (I hope). Try even recommending this to some college kids or beat break heads.

It's not everyone's cup of tea, I've let friends I know listen and they aren't impressed. Some people just don't have the appreciation, or patience. That and you can't dance to it in a club ; )
(You could, but it wouldn't catch on that way either)

I'd say it's Orchestrated music, even if it breaks the boundaries of traditional orchestrated music. If you're talking about where they'd put their CD's in a Barnes and Noble, that's any body's guess.

I'm gonna check out Rob Dougan and Craig Armstrong. The Hans Zimmer score for Batman Begins is great. Dark, brooding, moody, powerful, all that. I have the Globus album but I'm not a huge fan. I've heard of Ars Arcana but have never actually heard their music.
